Carlo is 3!
While we no longer count Carlo's age in months, we did have a big celebration
for his third birthday. Due to strong winds, we had to change the venue at
the last minute. Instead of park and pinata, we had pizza and a trip to the
aquarium with his six best friends. The children had a great time running around the pizzeria with balloons for almost two hours. Then they ran around for over an hour at the aquarium (fortunately, it was a slow day at the pizzeria and the aquarium because a
party of seven 3 year olds is not quiet).
We also had visits from both of the grandmothers. Unfortunately, both of them
fell ill during their visit. Nonetheless, Carlo and Eva loved having them here and are looking
forward to the next time they visit.
At the end of the month was spring vacation and Enrico took two days off . One of the days he braved the
Monterey BayAquarium with Carlo (I thought I would have a tranquil day at home with Eva,
but she decided that she only needed two half-hour naps that day). The next day we made a trip to the redwood forest at Henry Cowell State Park. It is only a 20 minute journey from our house,
but it was a perfect change of scenery.
Eva is 17lb 5oz and 26 1/2 inches these days. She is very determined to figure out how
to crawl and is fascinated by toys with wheels...watch out Carlo.
