Month six

Eva is 6 months old and on the move. She may not be crawling in the tradition way,
but she is able to move several feet in a short amount of time.
Our little baby is not so little any more!

My grandfather decided to visit my mother in Santa Fe this May. This provided
a good opportunity for us to meet up and introduce him to Eva.
Unfortunately, Enrico had meetings and class dominating his schedule, so I
braved a "solo" trip to New Mexico. Fortunately, the plane flight (Eva's first) was great - Eva slept
and Carlo moved his trucks and plough over white mounds of Playdough snow.

We had a wonderful time with my grandfather. There were many meals together
and he played baseball with Carlo as well as entertained Eva.
The children also enjoyed time with their grandparents and special thanks
must be noted for my father's girlfriend who was nanny extraordinaire.

Carlo really enjoyed playing outside at both of his grandparents' houses.
Although he spends much time at the park, apartment living in Santa Cruz does not provide him with
free access to the outdoors. On a sand hill he contructed a village complete with airport at Yagee-Yagee's house and
played for hours in the sandbox at his grandmother's house as well as
spent fruitlessly time trying to convince her dog Mei to fetch.

But Carlo missed his father terribly. The last few nights in Santa Fe he cried most of
the night. (We are all still trying to recoup the many missed hours of sleep.)
"Juntos" (together) is his favorite word these days. And for our
next trip we will definitely be "juntos."
