With the holiday season over we returned to the difficult question of schools.
Carlo starts kindergarten next autumn and the California schools are in crisis. However, like most
things in the U.S. inequality is rampant and some public schools have much more than others, so
this has us searching for a school/school district.

Thanks to this search, we went 10 miles north of Santa Cruz to Davenport. After we
looked at the grade school we went down to the beach and played. The next day we went over the hill
to the tony Los Gatos where we sipped cappucinos and drove around the neighborhoods.
