The first time skating and the first time driving our new car were some
of Carlo's firsts this month. (The back of the skates were tightened so that
Carlo did not take off across the floor and the car keys were not in the ignition.)

Except for a five day excursion to Sweden, we spent most of August in Copenhagen.
Enrico's mother, brother, and sister-in-law came to visit us in there,
and we all celebrated Enrico's birthday together. Some of our friends from Santa Cruz were also in
Copenhagen and we enjoyed some time with them and their boys. Then we went to Sweden to meet
our dear friends Ale and Andrea from our Cambridge days. Carlo loved
