| Week 12 of Carlo | |||
|
Carlo is three months old and middle age has already arrived. Every morning there are several strands of his dark hair left behind on his mattress, his stomach is increasing in size, and the double chin is becoming triple.We are awaiting signs of the mid-life crisis. Due to intense New Jersey heat and humidity morning walks have been replaced by evening walks. Carlo stares upward at the leaves of the trees - all of his mobiles can not compete with the interest a tree can provoke. He enjoys strolling around the Institute grounds in his Baby Bjorn (sticking to his father's chest) and babbling to anyone who stops to talk. With some trepidation we are preparing for a car trip to Chicago where Carlo will meet his great-grandfather. The trip is suppose to take 12 hours...how many it takes us will be revealled next month.
We call this Carlo's businesman-lounging pose. Only the martini or glass of wine is missing.
And here is his little-baby-sleeping pose.
Carlo is now sitting up on the couch. This was one of the first attempts that did not last long.
Bath time is a favorite activity. He loves to kick. Splashing his hands is only just starting. Soon there will be more water on the floor than in the bath.
Carlo enjoyed the visit of Enrico's colleagues from Huntsville. Sitting to the right is his godmother, Chryssa, who will be giving him Greek lessons so that way he can tell her all his secrets without his parents understanding.
Carlo can spend an hour in his swing watching the fish go round and round above his head. He also takes his mid-morning nap in motion.
A sensory experience provided by Carlo's Tia Silvia and Tio Omar in Cambridge.
Squeezing his stuffed toy and sucking his pacifier can calm Carlo in minutes.
Laughing on Papa's lap.
Until next month... |
