Hot and Lovely Budapest - page six

The Parliament building at night

The first bridge to be built across the Danube in Hungary. It is a landmark
of the city and hosts evening music performances and art shows during
the month of July (too bad we missed it).

The Gellert where we stayed was Budapest's premier hotel
in the beginning of the last century. It is showing some of its age, but
it is right next to one of Budapest seven famous thermal baths.
Its art nouveau architecture can be appreciated while sitting in one
of the many pools.

Carlo was wild about the trams and never missed an
opportunity to point out their passing. Sadly, these great modes of
transport are due to be phased out in 2007. What a mistake!

We loved Budapest and are looking forward to a return trip in the future.
