Madrid - Los dias en el Palacio de Jaroslav

To end our happy days in Spain we travelled to the capital to receive wisdom from the elusive sage, Jaroslav. We did find him, and he invited us to stay in his sanctuary. He also introduced us to the translator, momentary photographer, and occasionally transient Junio. We are in the former flat of Junio, and are joined by the mysterious Jaroslav, who holds tightly onto a precious friend.

A sculpture outside the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia where we had an hour to run through the many rooms...and linger at Guernica.

One of Gaudi's lesser known buildings is tucked away in one of Madrid's many distinct neighborhoods.

Looking up through the trees in Parque de Buen Retiro close to the Crystal Palace, we saw dark clouds against the white. While this was the park of queens and kings, it is now full of families, football games, and buskers. The liveliness is infectious - although Jaroslav did warn us about the dangers of the seemingly innocent Disney characters that wander about. Perhaps Maria had whispered these words in his ear "La unidad de una cultura proviene del sistema de esparanzas que en ella se dibuja."
