For Christmas 2000 we went to Italy with my mother. Our first stop was Venice. It was ice cold but nearly empty of people which made it seem as though we had the city to ourselves. | |||

Serving as the passageway between the Palazzo Ducale and the prison, this is the Bridge of Sighs. The guidebook says that the name comes from the sighs of the prisoners crossing into the prison. | |||
